The Basic Complete Memory Box provides caregiver assistance in honoring the memory of a baby in a sensitive and respectful way. More importantly, when things don’t go as planned and parents experience an infant loss, the Memory Box is something soft for parents to hold, hug, and take home, so they do not leave the hospital with empty arms.  The Basic Complete Memory Box provides a special place for parents to visit, remember, and touch their baby’s clothes, wisp of hair, hand or footprint to name a few. Caregivers can feel confident knowing they are offering a supportive and dignified bereavement tool that invites healing and comfort to families at a difficult time; The Basic Complete Memory Box will remind parents that “They came to you for care… and left knowing that you do. ”

Includes:

• The Basic Memory Box 
• A soft and padded Memory Box that has outer dimensions of 9½” x 8” x 2½”. 

• All three gender-neutral Memory Box coverings have the Memories Unlimited signature features, such as the two interior padded frames and satin ribbon ties. The interior padded frames are designed for displaying included literature components or photos. 

• The Basic Complete Memory Box offers three textured coverings: Natural Hand-crafted Paper with dark green ribbon, Green Hand-crafted Paper with white ribbon, and Aqua Hand-crafted Paper with aqua ribbon.
  
• Basic Literature  Included in the Basic Complete Memory Box is helpful in providing needed tools to present families with some important memory-making items. This basic packet of sensitive bereavement-related literature is specific to infant loss and allows the caregiver to collect and organize the few items that will become the treasured keepsakes for the family. The Basic Literature beautifully and easily provides dedicated places for the much-needed memory-making items for a family experiencing an infant loss in your facility.

• Basic Sympathy Card with Resources This Card allows the caregiver(s) to compassionately acknowledge the family’s loss, while providing space for a few words, if desired. It also connects the family to other people who knew and cared for their infant, when there may not be many people who had the chance. Basic Sympathy Card reads

• One-sided Baby Data Card and Blank Baby’s Prints Card Both are sized to fit inside the interior panel frames of the Memory Box. The Baby Data Card offers a place for Baby’s name, weight, length, and other data. Baby’s Prints Card offers space for a hand or footprint can be used to complete the frame in the Memory Box. (Photos can be placed in the frames, if available, and the cards can then be placed in the Box.)

• Resealable Bag A small 2” x 2” resealable bag for gathering a wisp of baby’s hair.
• Explanation Card The Explanation Card offers other gentle suggestions and ideas of items for families to consider adding into their Memory Box.
  

• Basic Clothing Set  Basic Clothing is one-size, handmade clothing components in our exclusive Sweet Zachary flannel fabric.

• Poncho and Cap Set: The Poncho is convenient for manipulating the fabric into a flattering position for photos and has a Velcro^® tab at the back of the neck for easy on and off. The Caps is handmade with white jersey fabric and a pom-pom on top. The Poncho and Cap can be given to the parents as an opportunity to dress their baby, have an outfit for taking photographs, and something for keeping in the Memory Box as a treasured memento, or used for burial.
• Sachet Heart Pillow  The Sachet Heart Pillow is handmade in our exclusive Sweet Zachary flannel fabric with the soft scent of baby powder and satin ribbon bow is also an appropriate prop to snuggle next to Baby for photographs, it helps give parents a perspective on Baby’s size. Anything that touches the baby is precious to parents, and placing the Sachet Heart Pillow in the Memory Box provides another cherished item.
  
• Mother’s Journal “I Will Remember…”  This Journal is an interactive component in the Kit, which can be used as a tool for a caregiver to help start a conversation with the parents about the grieving process. The Journal is designed to help allow Mothers to express and validate some of the feelings they may be experiencing and is specific to infant loss from 18 weeks to newborn.
  

• Staff Checklist The Checklist provides a structured, step-by-step protocol for caregivers, standardizing bereavement care. It helps increase caregivers’ confidence by providing a checklist of tasks in this difficult emotional time. Beginning with “Ask the baby’s name and refer to the baby by name”, it walks the Caregiver through the process.
