RTS 3329-E (English) When Your Baby Dies Before Birth
This informative booklet helps parents know what to expect when they learn their baby will be born still. Direct yet sensitive, it addresses the following topics: birth options, the hospital environment, what the baby might look like, physical contact, memory-making, and saying goodbye. The booklet offers an effective way for healthcare professionals to guide parents through this traumatic and unexpected experience.
The booklet RTS 3330 "Caring for Yourself After Your Baby’s Birth and Death,” which provides detailed information about physical recovery after stillbirth and addresses its emotional and psychosocial aspects, is intended to serve as a companion piece to “When Your Baby Dies Before Birth.” Used together, “When Your Baby Dies Before Birth” should be provided as soon as a stillbirth diagnosis is determined. “Caring for Yourself After Your Baby’s Birth and Death” should be provided at discharge and/or loaded in the patient portal for access as needed. The two brochures provide wrap-around support for the entire stillbirth experience.
